as you can probably guess from the title, i am not only a veteran (wait for it...) but a current student as well. i usually have a lot of "projects" going on and i'll update this with whats going on as i get around to it.
i'm not sure who exactly will read this, i hope to make it entertaining, as my day to day experiences usually tend to produce good stories. i am also thinking about making a website dedicated to helping veterans understand and access their benefits. the catalyst for this undertaking will be the topic of this, my first post.
i work as a workstudy coordinator at a veterans hospital. without going into too much detail, i help student veterans get some easy money by helping other vets. this job tends to introduce interesting people into my life, such as the one that i talked to today. as i finished processing his time sheet for payment, he mentioned that he had to go work on his business. always looking for a hookup i asked him about it. turns out he has a simple website that helps him generate about 20 or so bucks a month. he boasts that it will grow in the future because his blogs that generate the revenue will continue to receive web traffic and thus generate income for him.
right away i sensed an interesting little hobby (i recently just bought my first home and was looking for something to get into) and so, after asking, he told me about a website called "the 30 day challenge" here's the website if your interested. i assume that it will tell me about setting a site up and what-not. ...should be fun.
i'm going to make a website devoted to helping veterans understand government education forms (exciting stuff huh.) i was a recruiter for the navy in a previous life so i know how troublesome the forms can be, and how scrutinized they are when eventually turned in. a simple blog like system should do the trick at first. i plan on checking out the website when i get home and then getting things together.
